The Mystery of Haunted Objects

Have you ever picked up an old item- for an example- an antique mirror, a vintage toy, or a piece of jewelry-and felt an odd chill? Many believe that objects can hold energy, especially when they’ve been around during moments of strong emotion. That’s the fascinating world of haunted objects-items that seem to have a life (or afterlife) of their own.

How Do Objects Become Haunted?

Some paranormal investigators believe spirits can attach themselves to objects that meant something to them in life- heirlooms, toys, and furniture are examples. Others think that an object can absorb residual energy from intense experiences-love, grief, anger, or fear-that plays back like an echo.

In other cases, spirits might simply find an object a convenient way to anchor themselves to our world and make contact. That’s why haunted antiques and dolls are often among the most sought after items in paranormal collections.

Sally – Our Haunted Doll

One of the most talked-about haunted objects in our care is Sally, our very own haunted doll. Guests and investigators have reported strange activity surrounding the little doll.

Is she friendly? Mischievous? Maybe a little of both. What’s certain is that Sally loves attention-and she’s been known to make herself known when someone new comes to meet her.
