FAQ

  • Do you provide any ghost hunting instruments?
  • Yes, we run a ghost store and wholesale business for ghost hunting equipment. We sell a wide selection of ghost hunting instruments at the best prices on the market. See our GHOST GEAR link to visit our equipment website, call us or come and visit us in person. On the Hearse Ride tours, each adult tour guest is guaranteed to get to use a “ghost detection device” (K2 EMF meter) throughout the tour. On the walking Haunted Pub Tour the tour guide brings one of those devices that you will see in action and if you ask, you are welcome to try it out yourself.

  • Why should we choose a tour by GhoSt Augustine?
  • You should only do so if you think that one of our tours are what you are looking for and that you have good nerves and a strong heart. If you call us we can tell you exactly what the benefits are for you to choose to visit the dark side with us.

  • How long have you been in business?
  • Since May 2001. We started out as the first paranormal store in St. Augustine and started doing our own tours in 2002. Read more about us.

  • What is your relationship to The Atlantic Paranormal Society and Ghost Hunters International?
  • We met with the founders of TAPS, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, when they were filming an investigation at the St. Augustine Lighthouse. We sponsored them with K2 EMF Meters that they have since frequently used on their SyFy TV show “GHOST HUNTERS”. See the photos below.

Since we were first with discovering the unique capacity of K-II (K2) meters and are the master distributor for these fantastic devices, we were also invited to meet with Rob Demarest and Dustin Pari from GHI when they were here in St. Augustine for a paranormal investigation of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. We also sponsored Robb and Dustin with K2 EMF meters that they were using for that night’s investigation, and will be using in future investigations.

  • What is your relationship to the Orlando based GHOST TRACKER team?
  • Our Hearse Ride tours have been featured on their Orlando Channel 27 ghost show and have been invited to join them on paranormal investigations. We have also assisted them with research on locations to investigate in St. Augustine and we have provided them with K2 EMF Meters for use on their TV show.

That is it, no other discounts unless you have a group of 12 or more. (We do not discriminate against those who are not a senior citizen, AAA member, military or local resident. Regardless of age or affiliation everyone have the same discounts available here on our website.)

  • Do you offer any senior citizen, AAA member, military or local resident discounts?
  • No, see answer above.

  • Is there any of your tours that we can be certain of that there will not be any children on the tour?
  • Yes. There are two tours that require guests to be minimum 21 years old and one tour that has a 13 year old minimum age.
    – The Pub Hearse Ride has a minimum age of 21 years old.
    – The 9:30 pm Saturday night walking Haunted Pub Tour has a minimum age of 21 years old. This requirement is also valid for those busy nights that we also offer a 9:30 pm Friday night walking HPT and Friday or Saturday 9 pm walking HPT.
    – The 11:30 pm “Midnight” Hearse Ride Tour requires guests to be minimum 13 years old.

  • Does one have to be 21 or older to go on the walking Haunted Pub Tour?
  • No. Drinking alcohol is not a requirement to enjoy the Haunted Pub Tour! Therefore you are allowed to join the tour even if you are under 21 years old as long as you go on the 8:30 pm Haunted Pub Tour and understand that even though we 99% of the time do not have any problems getting you in to the haunted taverns, we cannot guarantee anyone under the age of 21 years old (or anyone who is very intoxicated for that matter) entrance to a “watering hole” since that decision ultimately belongs to the staff/management of each pub. Their policy could change from one night to the other, so if you are not allowed to enter, please do not blame your tour guide.
You go on the HPT at your own risk, no matter the age. We have a limited number of people we take on the tour and we do not refund due to the fact that you were not allowed to enter an establishment or for the reason that somebody (including the staff) was rude to you. These are real pubs we go to, and it can get crowded and as anywhere else in society, people might treat you harshly.

  • Can I bring my pet on the tour?
  • For consideration of our other tour guests we ask you not to bring your pet. If you must bring your pet, then please make it a private group tour and we will see if the pet will be comfortable and safe in the Hearse for the Hearse Ride Tour. On the pub tours, it is up to the pub staff to whether they will allow any pets in their pubs. They serve food at most places, so it is most likely not a good idea to bring a pet on any of our pub tours even if you make it a private group tour.

  • How long do you stay in each pub on the Haunted Pub Tour and the Pub Hearse Ride?
  • Typically on average about 30-40 minutes.

  • How many pubs do you go to?
  • On the walking Haunted Pub Tour, we usually make it to 4 pubs. Our Haunted Pub Tours are approximately 2.5 hours long. The Pub Hearse Ride usually goes to 3 pubs since this tour spends more time driving around out to the St. Augustine Lighthouse and unique stops downtown. On the Pub Hearse Ride you can bring your own bottles in the hearse since there is a partition between the driver and the passengers.

  • Can you drink in the hearse?
  • On the Pub Hearse Ride you can drink whatever you like. You can bring your own bottles. We do not supply any drinks since we are not a bar. Due to the partition between the driver and the guests it is legal to consume alcoholic beverages on the Pub Hearse Ride. On the regular Hearse Ride tour you are only allowed to bring water to drink.

  • Can you eat in the hearse?
  • If you pay for a private tour, Yes. Otherwise for consideration of other guests, do not eat in the hearse. Please eat before you come out on the tour.

  • Do we have time to eat at the pubs we visit on the Haunted Pub Tours?
  • Generally no, unless you make your orders before the tour starts and find out from the guide exactly where we will be at what time — otherwise at best you would only have time for a quick appetizer since the pubs are often busy and sometimes the kitchens are closed by the time we reach a pub stop. It is not recommended to dine on the Haunted Pub Tours. If you make the tour a private tour, then yes it could be possible since we will try to make special arrangements for you.
