Boston, one of America’s most iconic cities, is not without its own haunted history. Today we will walk through some of the most famous haunted spots in Boston.

The Omni Parker House

The Omni Parker House is a luxurious hotel with a dark and history. Established in 1855, this iconic hotel has hosted numerous famous guests, including literary legends such as Charles Dickens and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. However, it’s not just the living who roam these halls.

One of the most famous ghosts said to haunt the Omni Parker House is that of Harvey Parker, the hotel’s founder. Guests and staff have reported encounters with his ghost, often described as a friendly presence who keeps a watchful eye over the establishment.

Another infamous spirit is that of the playwright and poet, Eugene O’Neill, who reportedly stayed in Room 441 and continues to haunt the hotel to this day. Visitors have reported strange noises, flickering lights, and even sightings of O’Neill’s apparition roaming the halls.

The Boston Athenaeum

The Boston Athenaeum is a historic library known for its impressive collection of rare books and tales of the supernatural. The Old State House

The Old State House is a historic landmark that played a significant role in American history as the site of the Boston Massacre in 1770. Today, it stands as a museum, but its past is shrouded in tales of ghostly apparitions and paranormal activity.

One of the most well-known ghosts said to haunt the Old State House is that of James Otis Jr., a prominent patriot and lawyer who fiercely opposed British rule. Visitors have reported sightings of his ghost wandering the halls, dressed in colonial attire and appearing agitated.

Additionally, the site of the Boston Massacre itself is said to be haunted by the spirits of those who lost their lives on that fateful night. Visitors have reported feeling a sense of unease and hearing disembodied voices whispering in the darkness.
