A Night on the Total Paranormal St. Augustine Tour

Lighthouse illuminated at night, surrounded by trees, under a cloudy sky.

Every tour we host at GhoSt Augustine is different. Some nights are quiet, others are packed with strange activity-and sometimes you get a little bit of everything. That’s exactly what happened when one of our guests shared their story from our Total Paranormal St. Augustine tour.

The Night Begins

“Matt and I had an amazing time with our guides,” they told us. The evening started off with a downpour as their group set out with Coco. Instead of spoiling the mood, the storm seemed to amplify the evening.

Their first stop was had a possible brush with an entity named Jack. Coco explained his troubled history, and almost right away the equipment began to react.

  • The K2 meters spiked multiple times.

  • The Spirit Box answered their questions-sometimes sarcastically-and even warned them to “leave now.”

  • At that very moment, Matt spotted a shadow. When he described what he saw, Coco confirmed that it lined up with reports from past tours.

Needless to say, the night was off to a strong start.

An Alley Full of Energy

Later in the evening, the group crossed from the fort into a narrow alleyway. There, they first encountered the well known spirit Catalina-but her presence didn’t last long.

Using dowsing rods, EMF readers, and K2 meters, they realized a new spirit had arrived. This one didn’t seem too fond of another presence behind them. The rods even suggested the spirit felt unsafe. Then, just as quickly as it appeared, the energy shifted and the spirit was gone.

Encounters in the Cemetery

Cemeteries are always a highlight, and this night was no different. Coco’s storytelling painted vivid pictures of the people buried there, including the unforgettable tale of Bishop Verot, the “exploding bishop.”

The spirits they connected with here were lighter in tone-curious, playful, and even a little humorous. “We did not encounter any that were malevolent in any way,” the guest said, adding that her husband was thrilled. For him, a lifelong fan of the paranormal, it was the perfect mix of spooky and fun.

Exploring the Lighthouse Grounds

After a break, the tour continued with Lew, who guided them through the lighthouse grounds, the nearby cemetery, and the haunted Dixie House.

Inside the house, the group connected with Benjamin, a spirit willing to interact. Another presence, though, seemed less welcoming-especially toward the guest herself. Encounters like this serve as a reminder that spirits, just like people, can be warm, distant, or even annoyed.

Along the way, Lucian’s knowledge and enthusiasm stood out. His love for the history of each site and for the work he does was clear, and it added even more depth to the experience.

A Lasting Impression

Looking back on the night, the guest summed it up perfectly:

“Lucian’s knowledge of the events that took place at each of the locations was amazing. The love he has for his job is quite apparent and is much appreciated. We will definitely be back for more adventures with GhoSt Augustine in the future.”

And that’s exactly what we aim for-a tour that’s as full of history as it is of mystery, with just enough paranormal activity to keep you wondering long after the night ends.
